Free family concert: Odyssey will perform at 7 p.m. March 24 at the Carmel Valley Library, 3919 Townsgate Drive. The 45-minute show will include a mix of Broadway, '50s doo-wop, contemporary pop and patriotic songs. Singers Ann Larue, Debra Holmes, Jill Moore, Lois Harper, Patty Carlisle, Bill Isaacs, Brian Castle, Henrik Jonson, Paul Findley and RC Brooks will be accompanied by pianist Tessa Heunis, violinist Linda Sax, bass guitarist Steve Schisler and percussionist Tom Cornetto. Spring Fling: The Solana Beach City Hall Gallery will host an artist reception celebrating 'Art, Women, and the Spring Equinox' from 2 to 5 p.m. March 20 at 635 S. Highway 101. City Hall will play host to dancers, oracles, astrologers and musicians in the midst of an exhibit featuring the work of Lori Escalera, Cheryl Tall and Kelly Standard. Drumming circle leader Lisa Bonneau will direct an interactive program. The event is free, and all are invited to attend.
On the big screen: IMAX 'Hubble' opens at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center's Heikoff Dome Theater in Balboa Park on March 19. 'Hubble' is an IMAX and Warner Bros. Pictures production, in cooperation with NASA. Narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, the film runs 45 minutes. At 6 p.m. March 25, a Star Party will provide visitors with the chance to peer at the universe through large telescopes, rub elbows with NASA engineers, and see the film.
