SEJPA joins program
The San Elijo Joint Powers Authority is participating in the Energy Savings Bid program with San Diego Gas & Electric Co., it was announced recently.
After completing the Performance Optimization Project in early 2009, the SEJPA received 60 percent of the projected savings, or $70,486, as an incentive grant from SDG&E.
The SEJPA has the opportunity to receive the remainder 40 percent once the projected savings are realized. These annual savings benefit the ratepayers in the SEJPA service area.
Opes opens Del Mar office
Opes Advisors hosted a grand opening event for its new Del Mar office on March 4. The company used the grand opening as an opportunity to raise money and collect supplies for the San Diego Food Bank and its Food 4 Kids Backpack Program.
All of the proceeds from the event were donated to the San Diego Food Bank.

Company offers new ad service
Analog Analytics, software as a service solution company based in Solana Beach, launched a software platform on Tuesday that aims to provide publishers with a mechanism to increase their advertising revenue.
The company offers interactive coupons, gift certificates and other deals for local publishers and advertisers in any media. Its aim is to increase "click-through rates" for advertisers to as much as 10 percent.
Cooper elected to NAE board
Martin Cooper of Del Mar was recently elected to the National Academy of Engineering. Cooper is executive chairman and co-founder of ArrayComm Inc. He was elected "for leadership in the creation and deployment of the cellular portable hand-held telephone."
Cooper was among 68 new members elected to the group of the 2,267 in the U.S.
Academy membership honors those who have made outstanding contributions to "engineering research, practice or education, including, where appropriate, significant contributions to the engineering literature," and to the "pioneering of new and developing fields of technology, making major advancements in traditional fields of engineering, or developing/implementing innovative approaches to engineering education."
F&R get 'Tier 1' rank
Fish & Richardson received a top "Tier 1" national ranking for its Patent Prosecution practice by Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) magazine in its survey of the leading IP law firms in the U.S.
An elite Tier 1 ranking means that Fish received the most. Fish also received top tier rankings in 11 other categories, including regional Patent Prosecution, national and regional Patent Litigation, national Bio Life Sciences, and national ITC.
Trading post leases space
A 1,660-square-foot space at 426 S. Cedros Ave. was recently leased by the Cowgirl Trading Post, a jewelry and accessories, home furnishings and interior design store.
The four-year lease is for $140,000. Geri Savitt, of NAI San Diego, represented the tenant in the transaction. The landlord, South Cedros LLC, represented itself.
Metaplace signs on Cedros
Metaplace Inc. recently leased a 3,115-square-foot office space at 415 S. Cedros Ave. in Solana Beach. The 26-month lease is for $202,000. Geri Savitt, of NAI San Diego, represented the landlord Arts Industria LLC. Craig Knox of Irving Hughes represented the tenant.
