Tony Hawk at 2009 Clash at Clairemont event.
Legendary skater Tony Hawk will again amaze crowds at the fourth annual PacSun Clash at Clairemont, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 27 at the Krause Family Bike & Skate Park/Mission Valley YMCA in San Diego.

Retailers PacSun will bring in world class skateboarders, BMX pros and music for the opportunity to get a close look at the skateboarding stars riding the vert ramps, in-ground concrete pool and street courses. Proceeds from the event will benefit the YMCA and "Grind for Life," an organization that provides financial assistance to cancer patients and their families.

Admission, $10 at the door (kids age 6 and under get in free), covers food, demos, games, raffle tickets, entertainment and more.

Pros will be on the 2006 X-Games Vert Ramp, the largest outdoor ramp on the West Coast at 100 feet long and 15 feet tall, mini ramps and street skate courses. Skateboarding and BMX professional stars Tony Hawk, Andy Macdonald, Bucky Lasek, Pierre Luc Gagnon and Simon Tabron will be on hand along with other pros all day long. In addition to give-a-ways there will be autograph sessions throughout the day with Dave Duncan "The Voice of Skateboarding" as emcee.

"The PacSun Clash at Clairemont fundraising event is a great opportunity to create awareness for the Grind for Life and our mission to help people with cancer," said Mike Rogers, Grind for Life founder and two-time cancer survivor. "Every dollar donated to Grind for Life has an impact. Our assistance with families suffering from the effects of cancer is only possible through donations, product purchase and event attendance."

The Clairemont Krause Family Bike & Skate Park features new rails, jump boxes, gaps and quarter pipes. The extreme sports park is the only supervised skate park in the San Diego County that encourages BMX riding and skateboarding.
