Swirls - Del Mar
There are so many reasons to enjoy frozen yogurt - boosts the immune system, improves cholesterol, helps with weight loss and digestion, and is excellent source of calcium and protein - but the reason that many of us are drawn toward this cold treat is that it is absolutely delicious.

Del Mar Swirls offers 10 flavors (and a rotating selection of 51 flavors like Cake Batter, Dreamy Peanut Butter and Pomegranate) of frozen yogurt, and eight cold and 24 dry toppings to choose from (such as fresh fruit, Fruity Pebbles and chocolate balls). Holiday flavors include Egg Nog, Pumpkin and Peppermint Stick, and their nondairy and no-sugar options are also available. The cost is 39 cents per ounce.

Evan Wilensky, president of Del Mar Swirls, who just recently opened a second location in Encinitas, is passionate about and committed to frozen yogurt - he blends all the flavors himself and it is not unusual to see him helping behind the counter, greeting customers and cleaning. His hard work and dedication has paid off.

Del Mar Swirls mostly white space is immaculate and the yogurt is one of the best you will taste. Customer comments include, "I love Swirls," "Awesome flavors," "Great service," and "They have tons of amazing toppings and I love the fresh pineapple."

Swirls has two locations - 2683 Via de la Valle in Del Mar, (858) 755-5564, and 204 N. El Camino Real in Encinitas, (760) 479-2442 - and they are both open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Sculpt Fusion Yoga

Stress is usually the norm during the holidays, and there is a great way to de-stress yourself. Try yoga.

Sculpt Fusion Yoga offers numerous classes and levels of yoga daily and if you are new to yoga, you receive a free week of yoga to get started - complimentary New to Yoga workshops are also available one to two Sundays per week.

Robert, a resident of Del Mar and beginner to yoga says, "The best thing about Sculpt Fusion is that there are so many classes, so if you don't enjoy one style of yoga, there are so many other classes they offer, it is difficult to not find a style you love."

There are experienced instructors and state-of-the-art heating (heat provides many benefits including flexibility enhancement and injury prevention) in each yoga room. As one patron said about the heated class, "you definitely come here to sweat, I always feel like, incredible, after class."

Other offerings are a Guided Meditation class on Monday night (8:45 to 9:15 p.m.), and if you forget your mat or yoga clothes, no problem. Sculpt Fusion also has a boutique where you can purchase yoga wear and mats.

Located at 4639 Carmel Mountain Road, there is plenty of parking in the back of the Sculpt Fusion Yoga center. Call (858) 461-0908 or visit www.sculptfusionyoga.com.
